Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 – Hands on Review

Hello guys. Today, I would like to share with you a hands on review with The new Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1. Thanks to SAMSUNG, I get to play with it before the launching of the Tab which will be happening on the 20th of August 2011. Check it out more information on the launching date here : http://mynjayz.com/2011/08/celcom-samsung-galaxy-tab-10-1-launch-for-as-low-as-rm99/

It’s time for a better tablet. Is it TURE? Let’s find out.

A week ago, I got my hands on the new Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1. YES! and after playing it for about a week, I find it by far one of the best tablet’s out there in the market. There’s a lot to compare it to with it’s competitor, the Apple iPad2.

In this hands on review blog post, I will be writing what’s so good about this tablet, specs, physical designs etc and of course to make a comparison with their main competitor, Apple iPad2.

Here’s how it looks like! The Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1.

Samsung’s latest entry in the tablet market. The Galaxy Tab 10.1 is the company’s first Android Honeycomb tablet, and well, it was born in direct response to Apple’s iPad 2. No, it actually was. Samsung came out with the original Galaxy Tab 10.1, which is gonna unveiled in this month in Malaysia with Celcom. Thus, after Apple released its thinner iPad 2 a month later. Samsung immediately wanna be the first to overtake the iPad2. And yes now you can see that this coming launching event for the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1. Samsung had an entirely new 0.33-inch thick Tab 10.1 that could compete with Apple’s slab on both PRIZE & SIZE.

Let’s first compare the 2 leading tablets in the market. The Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 with the Apple iPad2.  I will only be comparing the important specs which what will make the people in the market to decide which tablet to buy.

The Samsung tab and The Apple iPad 2. The Samsung Tab is more on the rectangular tab which best to hold it horizontally thus the iPad2 is obviously the vertical tab. For this part, watching HD movies on the Samsung Tab is much better compare to the iPad2. Haven’t said that the Samsung Tab has dual speakers on both sides which will provide a surround-sound feel experience. iPad2 speakers are too soft and it’s located at the bottom left of the tablet.

Both tablets have camera. Both tablet performs very well. but the Samsung has an advantage on the camera side. Samsung comes with 3 megapixels camera with LED flash which the iPad2 dont. iPad2 comes with 3 megapixels camera with NO flash; Sadly. Both tablets are able to do video conferencing. As we know that the Samsung tablet is running on Android, so it could only be SKYPE or other video conferencing apps. While the iPad2 can FACETIME, Skype etc.

Good news, the front camera for Samsung Tab is far better than the iPad2. iPad2 looks very grainy. Okay back to the physical looks for both tablets. Samsung Tab comes in 2 colors same goes to the iPad2. White and black.

Both tablets has the same USB/charger jack. But it doesn’t fit each other. lol.

Yes, the new Samsung Galaxy Tab is a minute 0.01-inches thinner than Apple’s tablet, but more importantly it’s the first tablet on the market to give the iPad 2 a run for its rail thin form factor.

Compare it by dimensions, thickness & weight to all the tablet which is available in the market.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 has quite good multitasking features too. On the bottom left of the tablet, you can find 4 hover which indicates back, home, multitask/bookmark (recent windows open) and lastly the print screen snapshot.

On the bottom right of the tablet, its a place to get to know all your device notifications on email, twitter, foursquare, facebook etc, time & date, settings, configurations, wifi, battery life, brightness and so on.

Viewing photos and websites on the Samsung Tab was awesome. I really like how big is the screen was. It’s crispy clear. With 1GB ram, I won’t make the tablet hang. Which is GOOD! as smooth as the iPad2.  Samsung’s not using an expanded Super AMOLED Plus or IPS panel here, but the quality is still good. The 1280 x 800-resolution screen has superb viewing angles; there’s no color distortion at any angle and images appear bright even off axis.

but too bad sometimes I felt it too big for outgoing use. Honestly, on outgoing use I prefer to hold the Blackberry Playbook. lol.

On the Performance and battery life.

The Samsung Tab’s 1GHz dual-core Tegra 2 processor and 1GB of RAM pushed things along smoothly and allowed for a solid amount of multitasking. However, compared to the iPad 2, the experience doesn’t feel as fluid and parts of it are stuttery. Flash is one of those parts, performance was what you’d expect, it slowed down the browser a bit, but videos played back smoothly.

Battery life for the iPad2 definitely last longer than the Samsung Tab. Though it wasn’t really a proper test but i’m judging it through my daily usage and determination.

As you know that I can’t live without opening my email, social media sites and all. On that, I would prefer all those to be on the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 compare to the iPad2. :)

Video on the Review for the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1.

For more specifications of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1, you can check it out here. http://www.samsung.com/global/microsite/galaxytab/10.1/spec.html

Overall, a question if it’s a better tablet? My answer is YES. I am considering to get myself one this 20th August. Where Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 is gonna launch in Malaysia. http://mynjayz.com/2011/08/celcom-samsung-galaxy-tab-10-1-launch-for-as-low-as-rm99/

Lulla Man preview screening with Advertlets Bloggers

Few days ago, Advertlets had a Lulla Man movie preview screening at Cathay Cineplex, E@Curve. All Thanks to NEF (Nusantara Edaran Filem) and Advertlets.com. Check it out “PlayBoys of today’s world”. Lulla Man. This movie is definitely a movie for the guys/men out there.

Not a movie you would like to watch? I didn’t put any high hopes on this Thai movie, Lulla Man. As i know it will be like a playboy or somewhat hangover movie similarity. While I’m half trough to the movie, it was actually not that bad. It was actually quite funny. Hilarious. With all the stupid and dumb stuff and all. I can laugh out loud throughout the whole movie.

Well, the movie is all about 3 married men who go through tremendous lengths to hide their night activities with other women so that their wives don’t find out. However, the wives finally discover this and team up to seek revenge on them.

What ensues is a hilarious comedy, starring Chakrit Yamnam, Jeab Chern-Yim, Passorn Bunyakiet, Petchtai Wongkamlao, Ussanee Wattana.

Directed by Tunya Potiwijit, Lulla Man is currently playing in cinemas nationwide on (4th August 2011)

Movie Trailer.

Some photos taken that night of me with the bloggers at the screening @ Cathay Cineplex, E@Curve.

After watching the movie, Lulla Man. I rate it a fairly 5/10. It’s your turn to watch it if you haven’t :) For those who’s looking for laughter, this movie should be the right choice.

Follow me in twitter @mynjayz if you would like to grab some movie tickets from me in the near future from Advertlets. Cheers!

Food Review @ Vin’s Restaurant & Bar KL

It was quite sometime that I’ve been to a food review. Not long ago, i had the most enjoyable food review session, where I get to enjoy such a delicious fusion cuisine with my Advertlets friends.

Located at a a hidden housing area, Taman Tun Dr Ismail (TTDI). Called Vin’s Restaurant and Bar KL. A restaurant which offer quality Western cuisine with various fusion food from the owner, Navin. It wasted so good that will absolutely make your taste but tickled and would make you wanna come again.

Navin (Owner of Vin’s Restaurant & Bar) He loves to explore and experiment with recipes, and often take traditional recipes and add his own spin to it. He firmly believe in À La Minute cooking, making your food to order using fresh ingredients, with high quality meat and seafood, to create dishes that are worthy for your table.

Sounds convincing ain’t it?

I don’t want to waste any more of your time. Let’s proceed and check it out what Ravin has to offer! Start off with the appetizers – TAPAS.

Clockwise :

Sauteed Mushroom – RM16.90
It was served with Sauteed button and king oyster mushrooms flavored with herbs on crusty bread topped with parmesan.

Smoked Salmon Bruschette - RM21
This appetizers was so delicious as it was served with caper-floavored pesto. Not to mention the salmon was fresh!

Crumbed Scallops – RM18.90
Pan fried breaded scallops dips with mayo.

Brandy Prawn – RM18.50
Sauteed fresh shrimp served on crusty bread and tossed with Spanish dressing and brandy sauce. Tasted good!

All the above Tapas was quite filling already because it was served with Baguette (French Bread). But it’s all good. I’m quite a big eater.

Vin’s Chicken Nachos – RM26.90
Very appetizing as it was served with shredded chicken topped with crisp nachos, salsa and cheese. Very good for snacks while watching football or with beer!

Spicy Lamb Masala – RM18.90
An authentic Indian favorite , slow-cooked in an earthen pot and served with crusty bread. This was a lil spicy but it tasted flavorful. Very think flavor of masala, tender chunky lamb texture. MUST TRY!

Chicken Tikka Masala – RM18
Served with chunky chicken cuts seared and served in a masala sauce and served with focaccia, which is know as a Italian flat bread. Not very watery gravy but its kinda thick and flavorful to accompany with focaccia bread.

Mojito Cocktail – Rum Drink. For alcohol lovers. Quite strong for me as I would love to drink this while I’m not having my meal. Preferred, plain water.

The bloggers are having a busy time snapping pictures/eating. lol

Spicy Lamb Bolognaise – RM26.90
It’s a fusion lamb dish made in a spicy bolognaise sause and flavored with fresh herbs and wild mushrooms. This is somehow Ravin’s rendition. Never heard of lamb Bolognese right? You can get to try it here at Vin’s. MUST TRY!

Salmon Cream – RM28.90
Juicy grilled salmon cooked in a basil cream served on pasta. Loving the salmon combination with cream sauce al dante spaghetti. I’m in heaven.

Baked Black Cod Teriyaki- RM52
Another fusion dish served with side salad and aglio oglio pasta. Melts in the mouth and please do check availability. Cod fish was never been that fresh before.

Mogul Masala Pizza – RM28
Marinated with chicken cubes, with finely slice chili topped with Greek fate cheese onions. The crust wasn’t that filling thus the main purpose was the toppings of the pizza. And yet, it wasn’t a disappointment.

Fish and Chips – RM27
Traditionally English, hake fish dipped in a light batter, fried and served with French fired and coleslaw. Very mouth watering dish. The fish is something I would die for. Not frozen but fresh FRESH!

Beef Bacon – RM 28
The pizza was flooded with generous portions of beef bacon, smoked turkey, topped with mozzarella cheese and baked to perfection. My favorite! Because Imma MEAT LOVER! The lime was quite a good idea for a pinch of sour taste on your pizza.

VIN’s Rack of lamb – RM54
Imported freched juicy tender lamb served with fresh sauteed potatoes and a garden salad. Simple melts in your mouth. Same goes to this dish, do check for availability. It could be the juiciest LAMB RACK that I’ve tasted in my life. so juicy and yet meat texture was just nice.

The Black Angus - RM54
Air flown U.S grain fed ribeye steak grilled to your choice of doneness, served with potato salad, accompanied by salad and rich think gravy. Do check for availability. A MUST TO TRY! (highlighted dish for the night)

A close up on how succulent is the ribeye steak! Now you know the reason why I love this ribeye steak dish so much.

Treacle Cake Pudding – RM15
Savory cake pudding and the custard sauce tasted very unique.

The Elusivee Chocolate Cake – RM16.90
Choc cake tasted awesome. with the melted choc filling inside (HOT) blends well with cold vanilla ice cream. accompanied with sliced strawberries.

Homemade Tiramisu 17.50

There’s a whole lot more dish offered on the menu. You should visit Vin’s one day to check it out. Bare in mind that all these above wasn’t just it.

Liquors galore! Anyone? A couple of em contains 90-100% alcohol. OMG.

Final group shot of us with Navin (Owner) of Vin’s Restaurant & bar. :)

All in all, Vin’s was a place which is not too noisy, very good to dine in here with your partner for annivarsary, parties or in groups. Not to mentioned, with a very good customer service, which is excellent. Thus, the yummy food in a very reasonable price for average income people. Totally worth it. I would love to dine in there again with my friends/family though. Anyways, special THANKS to Navin with his hospitality, he treated us well. pampered us too, definitely had a great night there..

Ambiance: 7/10
Price: 7/10
Food: 8/10
Verdict: Nice calm ambiance, good steak, reasonable price, Good Service, Smoking area inside & out (GOOD)!

Everyone was shouting and jumping around in excitement. Waving hand out to people outside the glass window, acting as if we’re Chelsea players! Awesome laaa.

Reach Bukit Jalil Stadium in within 20 min in peak hour jam time. Usually I will take around 1.5 – 2 hours to get there.

Malaysia young guns in action. Well, to be honest on this match. Malaysia really great job on defending Chelsea players to score. Till Drogba’s freekick at almost the end of the match 80++ minutes: Free kick GOAL. Did the ball crossed the line? Own Goal? Goal? Seriously, I have no idea. But, to me, it wasn’t a goal. Oh well. I still do think Malaysia team played pretty well and it was indeed an exciting match.

That makes Chelsea 1 – 0 Malaysia.

Nuffnang.com.my has been Hacked by hacker Gaysec!

HEADLINE: Nuffnang.com.my’s database was hacked on 12am midnight on 22nd July 2011.

Nuffnang hacked hours ago. 34,531 accounts registered in 2009-2011 exposed to the WEB in public. Any further damages still unknown. Previously, Streamyx & Gengblogger was hacked by Gaysec as well.

It was in my timeline just saw this on Facebook and Twitter and am here just wanna share this news to all bloggers out there who’s having a Nuffnang account, currently or previously. If you have a Nuffnang account, do change your password Now because it’s vulnerable. Be safe or do whatever that’s necessary to be free from this trouble Nuffnang is been facing right now. Well, apparently, now you can’t do anything as it’s already under maintenance. But, just a tip of advice you guys to be careful every time you register yourself on different website especially like your personal email, twitter, eBanking sites or even Facebook. Try to use different passwords and the stronger it is, the harder it is to be hacked yeah.

Gaysec’s brave move on revealing private and personal information on the web is not ethical at all. Yes I do agree. What could be next, we might not know.

Quoted on twitter: Yes, memang Nuffnang kena hack. Advertlets tak kena hack lagi. Masih secure setakat ni.

Check it out a message on Gaysec website: What he has to say.

Nuffnang.com.my digodam dan separuh database dilepaskan

That’s all for now. More updates will be posted if there’s anything happening.

Media/Blogger training session with Chelsea Football Club Coaches!

Thanks to Samsung Malaysia, I get to be one of the lucky Media/Blogger to train with Chelsea Football Club Coaches! It’s a lifetime opportunity for me. Thus, I accepted it.

It was on Tuesday, (19th July 2011) when they landed here in Malaysia in the afternoon. Right in the evening at 4.30pm, here am I, located at Damansara Damai, called the Chelsea Blue Pitch. Check it out.

It was by far the best looking indoor futsal/football court I’ve ever seen/been. Specially for Chelsea fan I suppose. Such a beauty. In the stadium, there’s only 2 court. One is the flat floor and fake blue grass was the another one.

There’s four Chelsea coaches present on that day– Ian Woodroffe, Keith Harmes, Jamie Greenwood and Sam Hubert.

Jason & Justin (Blogger) with Jamie and Sam (Chelsea Coach) Having a chitchat about football.

Keith joined in as well. He’s the main coach who did train us from head to toe. :D

This is me wearing Chelsea 10/11 official jersey. Btw, I do wear other 3 teams of RED’s too. No worries.

After all the picture session, chitchat and all, finally, let the training begins!

Start up with some advice, briefings, introductions from the coaches.

First up. warm up was a lil straineous for us. As you can see my size, im rusted from all the hardcore exercise.

Me in action, training. Dribbling, passing, 1, 2 passing, shooting etc!

Break time with the bloggers! With Sam, Kate, Povy and Justin. Bloggers gang!

Right after all the trainings. We went back to the pitch. This time around, we are choosing teams to have a friendly match against each other. Of course with the coaches playing on behalf with us media/bloggers peeps.

LOL, Well guess what, I scored the opening goal. I did a “Ronaldo, Robinho, Roberto Carlos Goal Cockroach Celebration” with Sam Insanity. Sorry, jakun a bit. Oh ya like this! LOL.

Here’s a photo of me doing the Free kick! Well, it failed.

After a while, match ended. I forgot what’s the score. It was a friendly match. Never bother counting but all in all it was a good match. I did had fun playing with them :)

A group photo of myself with the 4 coaches who trained us.

Tired face after the game. With Povy Teng.

Camho time.

Final group photo with everyone + Chelsea coaches.

Once again, Thanks Samsung for the opportunity to train with them. Stay tuned for the training photos at Bukit Jalil. That’s all for now. Cheers!
